One Mile An Hour
One Mile An Hour

Released: 1st October 2012
Label: Snowbird Records

As far as debut albums go, this self titled album from One Mile An Hour is a sure fire contender for debut album of the year. This three piece band have created a beautiful album full of daydreams and melancholy that will leave you drifting away to a carefree place and never wanting to return.

‘Sunken Ships’ opens the album in such a perfect way, the gentle acoustic guitar and soothing vocals will instantly melt the heart of anyone having the pleasure to press play on this album. ‘Trouble’s Roots’ showcases the band's talent for creating timeless harmony laden songs that you will want to listen to over and over again. ‘In Return’ opens with the delicate sound of the xylophone, the vocals are once again perfect throughout this song, this is one of those truly magical songs that make all of life’s troubles drift out to sea.

After the opening three songs you will be head over heels in love with this band, and rushing to contact everyone you know to tell them they have to let this band into their lives. To continue to pick out highlights would not do this album justice, this truly is one of those albums that you can listen to from start to finish and never find your attention drifting away. Once the album has come to an end you will go back to the start and listen to it again and again.

One Mile An Hour are a band who have certainly enriched my life, I urge you to get a copy of this album and I am sure you will share my excitement.
