Binko Swink are a band that first came to our attention last year with the release of their debut single ‘Patient’. The band follow that release with ‘Play’ the first single to be taken from their forthcoming debut album.
‘Play’ is a lovely dreamy song, with an infectious melody, a sweet vocal delivery from Lyla which at times draws comparisons to Karen O. ‘Play’ is one of those songs that will have you counting down the days to festival season.
B-Side ‘Body Naked’ contains a very groovy guitar riff which quickly gets inside of your head. The vocals are soft and soothing throughout. The double tracked vocals towards the end of the song just add to the magic of this band.
With the album recorded and due for release in the spring, it is going to be a very exciting time for Binko Swink. If the album continues with the form of the singles then we are in for something very special indeed.
