If you're not familiar with the name Craig Finn then shame on you. Finn is the chief song writer for bar room greats The Hold Steady and this is the first glimpse of his debut album 'Clear Heart Full Eyes' which comes out on 23rd January 2012.
Taking a slight music detour from the day job Springsteen style of bar room rock and fitting more into a laid back country rock vibe, with an almost Rolling Stone type swagger. Its always been Finn's narrative lyrics that have shone through in the hold steady and he's not about to tone that back for his solo effort, with the images of religion, drugs and being young coming to the forefront (even with a reappearance of Gideon for the hold steady fans).
With this first taste of what to expect, I'm sure the album is going to be something special.
