Over the last few months we have noticed there are a number of bands combing a mix of influences from the 60’s and 90’s to create a much needed revival in guitar based music. That is exactly what the music industry is crying out for.

As singles go they really do not get much better than ‘Girls’. ‘Girls’ is an anthemic psychedelic guitar pop song that instantaneously grabs hold of the listener. The track begins with moody bass and delicate guitar before the thumping drums kick in. Then as the dreamy, spacey vocals take us into the chorus we are at the complete mercy of this band. Comparisons can be made many of the 90s bands that we hold dear to our hearts, including; The Charlatans, Cast, Jesus Jones and Primal Scream.

Deep Sea Arcade are due to release their album in the UK in 2012, and if this single is anything to go by we really are in for a treat.

Rating: 8.5/10
