Dirtyface are from Paisley in Scotland and formed in 2010. The band have taken their influences from Oasis, Talking Heads, The Beatles and Shed Seven to name a few. Listening to the six songs that are available on their website, this is the sound of a band full of confidence, a band that know how to write great songs.
‘The Snide’ instantly draws you in in. ‘Wishing Well’ hits you with an instant catchy chorus. ‘Remember The Times’ however shows a darker, moodier side to the band. ‘Ghost Town’ appears to takes the lyrical content of a town where not everyone is welcome, in a similar way to what Pulp did with ‘Mis-shapes’ “just can’t leave this place, they get you after dark and try to rearrange your face”. ‘Classic Case’ and ‘Palo Alto’ will both create mayhem on the dance floor and during gigs.
In a time when we are looking for new bands to step forward. To stand above the crowd and create music to believe in. Dirtyface could well be the band we have been waiting for.
