Oats are a four piece unsigned band from London who formed in early 2010. Oats have build up a fan base through gigging around London. They have a sound that could be compared to fellow London band The Holloways, who sadly, recently called it a day. There are three songs available on their MySpace page; ‘Penny’ which has a very funky baseline and a slight reggae feel to it that builds into a sing a long chorus that will be ringing around your head for a very long time. This is a song that has ‘radio-friendly’ stamped all over it. ‘Traintrack Tracey’ is built around another funky baseline. ‘Dazed’ has a darker and more haunting sound that highlights the versatility of this band.
If Oats continue to make songs as good as these three, a very exciting time could be just around the corner for them.
